This error is usually a driver issue and display adapter (video) driver is the most suspect though it could be others. Antivirus/antispyware/security programs, hardware (heat) and major software issues can also cause the error. Memory issues are another possibility after drivers.

Here the issue may be occurring due to the outdated VisionTek USB 3.0 driver. Since VisionTek didn’t develop driver for the latest Operating System, I would suggest you to install the driver in compatibility mode and check if it works.

I have an ASRock Fatality 990 FX Killer Mobo and FX 8320 oced. I started having speed problems on USB 3.0 ports running on Etron USB 3.0 Host Controller and stock drivers. I tried to install drivers from AMD site and it caused Irql not less or equal BSOD. I restored my system and tried to modify Etron driver after some days and it caused same BSOD. This time caused by Etron driver. My USB 3 ports then stopped working and I uninstalled Etron driver and now ports work fine. I don't have my USB 3 HDD for speed test but other USB 3 devices work fine now. Should I install Etron driver from mobo disc or internet or leave it without a driver ? Any other solutions ? Thanks in advance. I run W8 64 bit With 8 GB RAM and GTX 760.
