Usb Controller Driver Not Found Win 7 64

I have a rather strange problem with my Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit. Everything seems to work fine except for USB mass storage devices. I have USB keyboard, mouse and even a USB audio (wireless headset) all working fine on the computer. But any USB external drive, thumdrive or USB card reader. Found the problem. For some strange reasons, a few files.

Usb Controller Driver Windows 10

On a clean installation of Win 10 1703 I'm having an issue with the installation of the ASmedia USB drivers provided by Asus for my Z97-A mobo. The exact error message during installation is the Asmedia USB Host Controller was not found.
I can't see any evidence manual or otherwise that the Z97-A actually has Asmedia USB controllers but because the driver is offered I assume it does...
Microsoft appears to have installed 'their' USB drivers as seen in Device Manager but I cannot verify whether these drivers are allowing full USB functionality, i.e. USB 3.0 etc. AIDA64 reports the controllers as
USB2 Controller Intel Wildcat Point PCH - USB 2.0 EHCI Host Controller 1 and
USB3 Controller Intel Wildcat Point PCH - USB 3.0 xHCI Host Controller
I have the program usbtreeview and if I'm reading things correctly (not certain) all of the USB ports on my board are only doing USB 1.0 speeds.
I don't recall having any issues with mobo supplied USB drivers prior to Win 1703. Has anyone got any ideas? I'm not certain as to what USB drivers Microsoft has installed but there is a reference to Asus in one of the driver details boxes in Device Manager for USB Root Hub (USB 3.0) USBHUB3.SYS and ASUSFILTER.SYS.

Thanks for the replies guys. In device manager under Universal Serial Bus controllers everything appears to be ok - shows 2 host intel host controllers 1E2D and 1E26 with the Intel USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller and Intel USB 3.0 Host Controller.
However under the heading Other It shows Universal Serial Bus (USB) Controller and Video Controller with yellow explanation marks. I figured the Video Controller may be related to the onboard video however that is disabled in bios. But the usb controller I try to update driver and it says can't find driver software for the device.
I've just unistalled the two items and see if there is a problem.
Thanks ICit2lol, I did already update the drivers hoping to correct the two items listed under 'Other'.
Thanks Maxie for the heads up on the two utilities, I'm sure they will make a huge difference as I transfer a lot of large files. I have to go back and check out all the features of this motherboard and see if I'm missing out on something else that might be important. It was such a treat installing this board. Installed all the components, fired it up, upgraded the bios from within the bios, with a click of the mouse I selected a 4.2 GHz overclock saved, exited into windows and have never had to go back in.
Thanks for all the help.
