Do Steam Games Download In Sleep Mode Computer
I am trying to download a large file to my Windows 7 PC from an external hard drive. I started the download and I got a rectangle with a progress bar and a message that said 55 minutes were left. I checked the screen about 10 minutes later and the progress bar showed some progress, but the message still said 55 minutes left. I came back later and the display was dark. This is normal, as either my computer turns the display off or the display turns itself off after a set amount of time (15 minutes, I think) of no input from the keyboard (to save power, I presume). As is normal, I just hit any key and the display came back on. However, the rectangle with the progress bar was gone. I checked the file and found that it was only partly downloaded. I could not tell if it was still downloading, so I checked again after a few minutes, and no more had been downloaded. To avoid partial duplication, I deleted what had been downloaded, and started downloading it again. I stayed and watched the display this time. After about 15 minutes of downloading, the display went dark and I immediatedly hit a key to get the display to turn back on. When it did, the rectangle with the progress bar was gone. I checked the file to see that the download was apparently stopped. I don't understand why Microsoft would set things up so that the download would stop when the display is turned off, but I tried to turn off the display power saving feature. I could not find a way to do it on the computer using human logic. I tried going through the setup menu on the display itself. I tried looking in my Windows 7 Simplified book. I tried
Googling it. I tried the Microsoft website. I tried searching here. I could not find a way to do it. I guess I need Microsoft logic. Does anybody here know how to do this? Also, I want to disconnect the hard drive from the computer. If I remember correctly, I am supposted to demount the drive first using 'Computer'. When I right or left click on the drive in 'Computer', I don't get any option to demount it. How do I demount the external hard drive? Yes, I searched for answers for that question, too.
